Key features
Dess 80 operates in a wide temperature range between -20°C and +60°C. However, the unit has pretty low protection rating of IP 44. It will safely withstand splashes, drops and high humidity, but direct contact with large amounts of water is unacceptable. Therefore, the unit must be protected against atmospheric agents, including rain and snow, when installed outdoors.
Dess 80 has a capacity of about 3.5 kg/hour and features an automatic stop timer. With the low noise level of 46 dB(A), the unit is suitable for continuous operation both in empty rooms and attended production shops.
MyCond recommends to power the unit from a UPS with a 16 A circuit breaker. The unit is not particularly mobile, since it weighs almost 21 kg. However, it has built-in carrying handles on the sides.
How it works
During operation, the dehumidifier continuously handles two air flows, namely process and recovery air.
The process air flow passes through the dehumidifier, while the smaller recovery air flow heats up the rotor and removes the adsorbed moisture from the unit. The condensed water is discharged via a drain pipe, which should be sloped, so as to prevent back flow into the dehumidifier body and moisture accumulation inside of the pipes and ports.
